Venus optics continue their impressive lens expansion with the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens now available for Micro Four Thirds.

This new lens features a 100º field-of-view with little to no distortion, making it ideal for photography or video.

The wider than normal field-of-view gives the photographer the ability to capture a more natural perspective, and this makes it an ideal choice for the Panasonic GH5 or Blackmagic Pocket Camera.

Optically the new MTF version of the lens features the same optical specifications and performance as the existing Fuji X, Sony Em Canon EF-M and DJI DL mounts.

These all features an ultra-wide 113º angle and cover a Super35-sized sensor with little to no distortion.

Usually with a lens of this focal length distortion is expected, but here Venus Optics have worked hard to minimise the effect with close to zero distortion in images.

This means that straight lines will remain straight saving you time in the post process when it comes to correcting lens distortion.

Keeping with the slimline low profile of the Micro Four Thirds systems the 9mm has been designed to complement the cameras at just 60mm in length and weighs in at just 210g.

Inside the optics comprise of 15 elements in 10 groups with 2 aspherical and 3 extra low dispersion elements.

Unlike many ultra-wide lenses, it is possible to fit a filter and the lens features a 49mm filter thread.

The price will be $499 (Ex VAT) for more information check out http://www.venuslens.net/
