Toshiba has launched a new range of memory cards designed for capturing 4K and 8K video, introducing the UHS-II EXCERIA Pro SD cards.
The Toshiba EXCERIA Pro SD cards will come in capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, offering minimum data transfer speeds of 90MB/s. This ensures the cards a Video Speed Class 90 label, which is faster than the now-standard U3 and Class 10 labels.
The Toshiba EXCERIA Pro SD cards offer maximum read speeds of up to 270MB/s and write speeds top out at 260MB/s.
The new Toshiba memory cards are only launched in Europe at the moment, and no price information has been released.
Toshiba is offering a five-year warranty on the EXERIA Pro cards, which promise to be waterproof, shockproof, X-Ray-proof and can withstand temperatures from -25ºC to 85ºC.
A release date for the new Toshiba memory cards is not yet available.
