TinyMos has announced the NANO1, which it is calling the world’s smallest astrophotography camera with a release date expected for spring 2019.

The NANO1 follows the the TINY1, which the company launched two years ago, and the new camera promises to be 3x smaller. The NANO1 weighs less than 100g, making it nearly a third of the weight as the TINY1.

TinyMos says the NANO1 also packs three times more resolution thanks to a new Sony BSI image sensor.

This sensor enables the NANO1 to capture 4K UHD video and 12-megapixel still images.

Interestingly, the TinyMos NANO1 also features a dual-mount system that can support small M12 lenses or larger C-mount lenses.

Users can also control the NANO1 via their smartphone using the companion app.

TinyMos says the NANO1 will launch this autumn, with first shipments due for delivery in April 2019.
