Tiffen, a company know for its lens filters, has launched its first monopod, introducing the Steadicam Air, which employs a foot pedal that allows users to adjust its height.

The Steadicam Air’s foot pedal is connected to a gas spring. Users can then press the foot pedal to adjust the height of the Steadicam Air.

The Steadicam Air is made of carbon fibre and is comprised of three sections.

Depending on which model you have, the new Tiffen monopod can also withstand a payload of 25lb or 15lb. On its own, the Steadicam Air weighs just 3.5lbs, making it very portable.

The Steadicam Air price tag will be $499 for the Air-25, or $399 for the Air-15. Both versions of the Tiffen monopod also come with a carrying bag and a shoulder strap.

The Steadicam Air is shipping now, Tiffen says.
