Tamron has announced a 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD lens (model A035), price tag $799, designed for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts.

The new Tamron telephoto lens offers an optical construction of 17 elements in 11 groups and includes three Low Dispersion lens elements that help reduce aberrations.

The new Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD also promises Vibration Compensation of 4 stops. Tamron says this is achieved via its Dual Micro—Processing Unit, which boasts a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) for high-speed digital signal processing.

The Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD Model A035 is compatible with the company’s 1.4x tele converter and the Tamron TAP-in Console that allows users to customise their lens for focus adjustments.

Made of magnesium alloy in the lens barrel, Tamron says this helps keep the weight down to 1,115g, making it the lightest telephoto in its class.
