Tamron has announced a new firmware update for the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD lens that resolves a number of autofocus issues with Sony E-mount cameras.

Firmware version 2.0 for the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD improves known issues for autofocus with Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras when the range of focus search distance is broad. The issue occurs in video recording mode, Tamron says.

To check your 28-75mm lens’s firmware, select “Setup” then “Display version” from your camera’s menu screen.

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD’s firmware can also be updated using cameras that support this lens firmware update.
