Tamron has announced the development of a new 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the company has announced.
The new compact zoom lens will weigh just 550g and measures 117.8mm, while boasting Tamron’s Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive (RXD) which it says ensures quiet operation for videographers.
Other features include a minimum object distance of 0.19m at its wide-angle setting, 0.39m at its telephoto end, fingerprint-resistant fluorine coating and a moisture-resistant design.
What’s more, Tamron says the lens is compatible with Sony’s “Direct Manual Focus (DMF)” system feature, enabling the new 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens to use these functions.
No price information is yet available, though Tamron says its 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens will be released around mid-2018.
