Tamron has announced a 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD standard zoom lens, price tag £779.99 / €879.99, designed for use with Sony E-mount APS-C cameras.
The Tamron 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD boasts a fast maximum aperture across its focal range and is also equipped with Vibration Compensation, making it promising for low-light shooters.
Tamron says its VC mechanism also uses AI technology when shooting video. The VC system also uses a Dual Micro Processing Unit with a built-in Digital Signal Processor.
The Tamron 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD is comprised of 16 elements in 12 groups, of which there are two Glass Moulded Aspherical elements and one hybrid aspherical lens.
Importantly, the Tamron 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD is compatible with Sony’s technology such as Eye AF, Fast Hybrid AF and in-camera lens correction.
