Sony ZV-1F: price, specs, availability confirmed

Sony ZV-1 review
News

The Sony ZV-1F has been announced for vloggers and contact creators looking to step up from a smartphone.

The new ZV-1F features an ultra-wide lens with an effective focal length of 20mm in 35mm terms and a maximum aperture of f/2.0. The large aperture should ensure that a subject can be isolated from a blurred background in stills and video.

The autofocus system, supported by Eye AF, which works for humans and animals, ensures that the main subject is sharp. Sony’s Background Defocus Function is available to enable inexperienced users to blur the background and the Product Showcase Setting ensures a smooth shift of focus from a face to a product held up to the camera.

Face Priority mode is also on hand to automatically adjusts the exposure to suite the subject’s face in changing lighting conditions.

Active Mode image stabilisation helps to deliver smooth hand-held footage and S&Q mode simplifies the creation of slow motion at 5x slower speed and quick motion at 60x faster speed.

Audio can be recorded via the directional 3-capsule mic and a windmuff helps to reduce wind noise. There’s also an accessory shoe that can be used to attach an external mic.

The sony ZV-1F weighs just 229g, so it’s highly portable yet it features a vari-angle touch-screen for ease of composition and control.

Sony ZV-1F price and availability
