Sony has announced a new Wireless Remote Commander, introducing the RMT-P1BT – price tag £65 / €75 – which operates via Bluetooth to connect the remote directly to your camera.

Aimed at photographers shooting landscapes, architecture, astrophotography, group portraits and still motion photography, the Sony RMT-P1BT boasts a 0.05sec release time-lag.

The RMT-P1BT includes controls for other camera functions, such as focus buttons, Start/Stop movie recording, zoom control, a custom function button and the option to set a Bulb exposure mode that can be programmed to open and close the shutter with one click of the main button.

The RMT-P1BT is also resistant to dust and moisture, as well as hot and cold temperatures, meaning you can use it in many different types of conditions.

Sony says the RMT-P1BT release date will be in April.
