Sony has announced the MRW-S3 smart USB Hub, which it claims is the world’s fastest UHS-II SD and microSD card reader with an HDMI output.

Designed for professional photographers and videographers, the Sony MRW-S3 supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 and can reach data transfer speeds of up to 1000MB/s.

The MRW-S3 claims to bring out the full speed of each USB device connected to it, and can receive up to 100W USB Power Delivery for more stable connections.

The Sony MRW-S3 also boasts an HDMI output with 4K at 30fps capability for connecting to external monitors.

The Sony USB Hub is made of aluminium and weighs just 95g.

The Sony MRW-S3 release date will come in autumn 2019.
