Sony has announced a new range of high-performance G Series CFast memory cards aimed professional photographers and videographers.

Sony’s G Series CFast cards are designed for use with high-end DSLR and 4K cinema-grade broadcast cameras, offering write speeds of up to 510MB/s and read speeds of up to 530MB/s.

The new G Series CFast cards also support VPG130 to enable faster recording of Cinema-grade or high-bitrate 4K video, Sony says. The CFast cards also promise a minimum sustained write speed of 130MB/s.

Sony says its new G Series CFast cards can also withstand high and low temperatures and are resistant to static, shocks, drops and vibrations.

The new G Series CFast 2.0 memory cards will be available in 32GB (CAT-G32), 64GB (CAT-G64) and 128GB (CAT-G128) capacities in early 2018. Price information is not yet available.
