Sony’s long-awaiting CFexpress Type B TOUGH memory cards will begin shipping from online retailers as soon as next week.

B&H Photo Video in the US lists the Sony CFexpress Type B TOUGH release date as December 25, 2019. Adorama also lists the Sony CFexpress cards as available soon.

In the UK, Park Cameras now lists a product page for the new CFexpress cards.

Announced in February as a development project, Sony’s CFexpress Type B card delivers read speeds of up to 1700MB/s and write speeds of 1480MB/s.

For now, the Type B TOUGH card will only be available in a 128GB capacity, but Sony plans to release 256GB and 512GB versions in the future.

Sony’s MRW-G1 CFexpress card reader is also set for release. The multi-format reader is also compatible with Sony’s G and M XQD memory cards.
