Sony has announced the immediate release of version 2.00 firmware for the 12Mp Sony A7S III.
The latest firmware adds the P11:S-Cinetone picture profile preset that is also seen on the recently announced Sony FX3. S-Cinetone is a new look for video that uses advanced cinematic colour science for richer tonal reproduction that is especially good for skin tones and delivers attractive highlights
It is based on technology developed with the Venice digital motion picture camera. As well as the FX3, it’s also seen on the FX9 and FX6 and FX3.
Version 2.00 of the A7S III firmware also adds support for setting Steady Shot to ‘Active’ while recording movies in S&Q mode when the frame rate is set to 120fps/100fps or higher.
In addition, the firmware improves the overall stability of the camera.
