Sony has announced the development of its next generation motion picture camera, introducing a 36x24mm full-frame system to its CineAlta range.

Aimed at cinematographers and digital imaging technicians, the new Sony CineAlta camera boast a new 36x24mm full frame sensor designed specifically for the CineAlta camera.

It will also be aspect ratio agnostic and include Super35 4K 4-perf 4:3 Anamorphic and 4K spherical 3-perf 17:9, as well as full-frame.

Specifically, Sony noted compatibility with the DVF-EL200 Full HD OLED Viewfinder, AXS-R7 recorder, AXS-CR1 and AR1 card reader, AXS and SxS memory cards.
