Sony has released a new firmware update for the A9, which adds Real-Time Eye AF for animals, interval shooting and performance enhancements.

Sony A9 firmware version 6.00 updates the A9’s AI-driven Real-Time Eye AF technology to detect animals as well as humans. What’s more, you can even set the camera to select either humans or animals depending on your situation.

The other key addition to Sony A9 firmware version 6.00 is interval shooting, which allows users to capture time-lapses in-camera.

Other performance enhancements in the Sony A9 firmware update include allowing users to access the My Menu easier, change the Focus Frame Colour and enable remote operation via the RMT-P1BT commander.

Sony A9 firmware version 6.00 is available for both Windows and Mac users.
