Sigma unveils 3rd generation 12-24mm zoom
News

Sigma has launched the third generation of its popular 12-24mm zoom at Photokina 2016, introducing the Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM.

The latest Sigma Art lens promises edge-to-edge sharpness, Sigma says, thanks to an 80mm large-diameter molded glass aspherical lens — the largest such element in this class of lens.

As well as a constant aperture of f/4 throughout the zoom range, the new Sigma lens also offers a minimum focusing distance of 24cm and a new Hyper Sonic Motor offering 1.3 times the torque of its predecessor.

The new Sigma 12-24mm F4 DG HSM | Art also features lens elements made
with FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass, which is equivalent to fluorite in performance, and an optimised power distribution that work together to reduce distortion, chromatic aberration and coma flare.
