Sigma has unveiled its latest super-telephoto zoom, the Sigma 300-600mm f/4 DG OS Sports, aimed at professionals and serious enthusiasts in sports and wildlife photography. With a constant f/4 aperture, optical stabilization, and advanced autofocus, this lens is designed for fast-moving subjects in challenging environments. It joins Sigma’s prestigious Sports lineup, known for its rugged build and high optical quality.
The zoom range of 300-600mm makes it an ideal tool for capturing distant action, whether it’s on the sports field, safari, or birdwatching. The f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range ensures consistent exposure and the ability to create a shallow depth of field, helping subjects stand out against busy backgrounds.
Sigma has incorporated its latest HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) autofocus motor, promising fast, precise, and quiet focusing, crucial for both stills and video. Additionally, Optical Stabilization (OS2) offers up to 5.5 stops of shake reduction, assisting in handheld shooting at long focal lengths.
The lens is built for rugged outdoor use, featuring extensive weather sealing and a magnesium alloy barrel that balances durability with a relatively lightweight design for a super-telephoto lens. Compatibility with Sigma’s 1.4x and 2x teleconverters extends its reach up to 1200mm while maintaining autofocus functionality.
