SanDisk has announced a new range of portable SSDs, the Extreme and Extreme Pro, which boast capacities of up to 2TB.
Aimed at photographers and filmmakers on the go, the new SanDisk Extreme drives promise double the speed of previous generations.
The SanDisk Extreme portable SSD provides write speeds up to 1000MB/s and read speeds of 1050MB/s.
It also sits in a silicone shell that is shock-proof from drops of up to two metres and keeps it IP55 water and dust resistant.
The SanDisk Extreme Pro portable SSD provides read and write speeds of up to 2000MB/s. It boasts an aluminium chassis that absorbs heat to help it deliver higher sustained speeds in a smaller form factor, SanDisk says.
Like its sibling, the Extreme Pro provides two-metre drop protection and an IP55 rating.
The SanDisk Extreme portable SSD is available now in 500GB priced at £133.99, and 1TB priced £216.99. A 2TB version is due for release later this year.
