Samyang – also known as Rokinon – has announced a new AF 45mm f/1.8 lens for Sony E-mount cameras in its ‘Tiny Series’ range of optics.
With a minimum object distance of 45cm and a fast aperture, the Samyang / Rokinon AF 45mm f/1.8 FE is aimed at travel photographers.
It boasts a new lens design the company says is optimised for high-resolution mirrorless cameras, which features 7 elements in 6 groups, including two aspherical optics and one extra-low dispersion element.
Inside is also a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, promising smooth bokeh.
The AF 45mm f/1.8 FE is the seventh Sony E-mount lens from Samyang / Rokinon. Its price tag is £349.99 / $399 with a release date set for the end of May. It’s available from Adorama and B&H Photo in the US, and from Wex Photo Video in the UK.
