Samsung has announced the T7 Touch portable SSD, price tag from £130, and offers write speeds of up to 1,000MB/s.
The Samsung T7 Touch SSD matches its impressive write speed with read speeds of up to 1,050MB/s. These transfer rates are twice as fast as its predecessor, the T5, Samsung says. They also claim to be 9.5 times faster than external HDDs.
These speeds are achieved based on its use of the USB 3.2 Get 2 standard. As such, the T7 Touch is designed to store large numbers of images or 4K and 8K videos.
Another interesting feature in the Samsung T7 Touch is a fingerprint sensor for data protection, the first of its kind. This comes on top of password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption.
The Samsung T7 Touch is available in capacities of 500GB (£129.99), 1TB (£195.99) and 2TB (£365.99) in both black or silver finish.
