Samsung has announced the Galaxy A8 smartphone, which boasts a 16-megapixel f/1.7 rear camera and 16MP+8MP f/1.9 dual front camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A8’s dual front camera is made up of two separate cameras, and users can switch between the two for different types of shots.

A new Live Focus feature employs the dual front camera to allow you to adjust an image’s bokeh effect before or after you take the picture.

Users can also customise images with the Samsung Galaxy A8, from adding stickers to photos to employing the A8’s Food Mode.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 offers an external microSD card slot that can support cards up to 256GB. Its body design is also IP68 water and dust resistance.

What’s more, the A8 is the first smartphone in Samsung’s A series to support its Gear VR.

A price tag wasn’t available at the time of writing, but Samsung says the Galaxy A8 will be released in April 2018.
