Rode has released the NTG5 shotgun mic, price tag £449, which boasts a new acoustic port design and lightweight construction.
The Rode NTG5’s new acoustic port design promises better progressive wave interference with broadcast-grade sound, Rode says. It also offers a highly directional supercardioid polar pattern and smooth off-axis response.
Aimed at professional users, its tailored frequency response and low self-noise of 10dbA make it ideal for location recording. Its RF-bias technology and conformal coating also enable it to perform in adverse weather conditions.
The NTG5 comes with a location recording kit comprising fur and foam windshields, a redesigned pistol grip, the RM5 Clip, pG2-R Mogami Pro cable and a carry bag.
The Rode NTG5 release date will be December 2019. You can pre-order the Rode NTG5 at retailers such as Adorama in the US or Wex Photo Video in the UK.
