Ricoh has released four software development kits that will enable third-party developers to create apps that will allow users to control Pentax cameras remotely from their smartphones.

The kits Ricoh has released are the

  • RICOH Camera USB SDK for Microsoft® .NET Framework
  • RICOH Camera USB SDK for C++
  • RICOH Camera Wireless SDK for iOS
  • RICOH Camera Wireless SDK for Android

And these are compatible with the Pentax K-1 and K-1 Mark II, the KP, K-70 and the medium format Pentax 645Z.

As well as remote control operation (via WiFI or USB) of these Pentax cameras, the software development kits will enable developers to create applications allowing users to control multiple cameras and out their images to external monitors.
