Ricoh has no plans to develop a 24×36 or 645 mirrorless camera, according to an industry insider.

A recent Tweet by Kimio Tanaka, who claims to speak on the company’s behalf relaying an official position, said that Ricoh has no plans to develop a mirrorless camera of any kind, namely a full-frame option or a new medium format 645 model.

That said, it is unclear from the Tweet if that official position means Pentax has no plans, as well.

Pentax released the Q mirrorless camera earlier in the last decade but it has since been discontinued with no suggestion of a replacement.
