Ricoh has announced the WG-70, price tag $279.95, the latest addition to its WG line of waterproof, shockproof compact cameras.

The new Ricoh WG-70 is waterproof to a depth of 46 feet, shockproof from heights up to five feet, crushproof against weighs up to 100 kilograms of force and freeze-proof at temperatures down to -10C.

Inside the Ricoh WG-70 is a 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS sensor, which is paired with a 28-140mm 5x optical zoom lens.

The WG-70 offers a top sensitivity of ISO 6400, and low-light images are aided by six LED macro lights around the lens barrel for shooting close up.

There’s also a new Digital Microscope mode and a revamped underwater mode.

As for video, the WG-70 shoots Full HD footage at 30p.
