Ricoh has announced the development of the GRIII, with a release date set for early 2019, and a host of newly designed features and specifications.

The latest addition to the GR series, the Ricoh GRIII maintains the classic GR-series concept but introduces a newly designed 18.3mm (28mm equivalent) lens, new 24.24-megapixel sensor, as well as a new imaging engine.

The Ricoh GRIII also benefits from 3-axis image stabilisation, raw shooting and is sensitive down to +/- 5EV.

As for video, the Ricoh GRIII will shoot Full HD at 60p, 30p and 24p, with a built-in stereo microphone. Ricoh says:

Currently under development, the RICOH GRIII inherits the basic GR-series concept, but it incorporates totally new devices in its main components, including a newly designed lens, a new image sensor, and a new imaging engine. These are designed to further upgrade image quality, strengthen many of the functions and improve the user interface.

Designed to be the ultimate snapshot camera, the RICOH GR II is a totally new breed of GR camera, one that will give the user new and different creative possibilities. We hope Photokina 2018 visitors will enjoy their first look at this new-generation GR-series model.

Ricoh GRIII Price & Release Date
