Nikon will release a mirrorless equivalent of its flagship DSLR, the Nikon D5, the company’s CEO has been quoted as saying.
Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper that covers the country’s manufacturing industry, has quoted Nikon’s new CEO Kazukazu Madate as saying that Nikon will introduce a flagship mirrorless camera similar to the D5. Madate is quoted as saying:
“Nikon to introduce a top-end model of the mirror-less camera. Time is a non-published, but Umatate Toshikazu president was revealed in response to the interview of the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. Top-end model of the digital single-lens reflex camera “D5.”
The article, however, doesn’t give a timeline for the new Nikon mirrorless camera. Nor does it confirm whether the launch would be in the Z series or represent a new line of Nikon mirrorless cameras
