Profoto has announced the A1X, a new flashgun offering AirTTL and HSS in a body dubbed ‘the world’s smallest studio light’.

Designed with a round head, the Profoto A1X also boasts a magnetic mount for use with a range of Profoto Light Shaping Tools, which can also be stacked.

Profoto says the A1X also recycles four times faster than other on-camera lighting, delivering times of 1sec at full power.

The A1X also has its own Li-ion battery for using the unit off-camera. The battery can deliver 450 full-power flashes per charge.

AirTTL remote is also built in to the A1X, as is an LED modeling light and motor zoom with manual control.

The Profoto A1X is compatible with Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras. Visit Profoto’s website for the full list of A1X compatible cameras.

You can purchase the Profoto A1X at a price tag of $1,095 from Adorama or Park Cameras.
