Polaroid appears to be teasing a return to instant film cameras

Polaroid is teasing visitors to its website with a series of pop-up screens that appear to indicate it will relaunch its classic instant film cameras.

All of the pop-ups feature a countdown timer and the date September 13. The pop-ups also strongly hint at the launch being film-based, with statements like ‘Clear your fridges. Well, fridge doors at least’ And ‘In 1972 we made something incredibly complex incredibly simple. On September 13 we’re doing it again.’

Another pop-up lists the film formats Polaroid used to make and says, cryptically, ‘Join the dots on September 13.’

September 13 will also be Polaroid’s 80th anniversary.

The Phoblographer has a nice analysis of all of the pop-up screens and what they each could mean.

Go see for yourself at Polaroid’s website, where you can also sign up to get more information as it becomes available.
