StationPC has officially launched PocketCloud on Kickstarter, unveiling what it calls the world’s first truly portable NAS (Network Attached Storage). Compact yet powerful, PocketCloud introduces a revolutionary approach to mobile data storage with a modular design, one-click backup, and high-speed performance—all engineered to fit in the palm of your hand.

Developed with photographers, videographers, and mobile professionals in mind, PocketCloud aims to eliminate the complexities traditionally associated with NAS systems. It comes equipped with dual M.2 NVMe SSD slots, providing storage expansion of up to 16TB. This modular architecture allows users to separate storage between mobile and docked use cases, ensuring data is redundantly protected and accessible across workflows.

Ease of use takes centre stage in the PocketCloud design. The device features a 0.96” LCD display with a tactile knob control system, allowing users to initiate backups and monitor progress with minimal setup. The intuitive interface supports flexible backup methods, including both local and remote options, appealing to users seeking secure, collaborative storage solutions without compromising privacy.

Durability is another standout feature. Constructed with an aluminium alloy chassis and equipped with a turbo fan cooling system, PocketCloud is built for rugged use in the field. It also includes a replaceable battery that delivers up to six hours of continuous operation and up to 20 days on standby—ideal for photographers and creators working off-grid.

Beyond professionals, PocketCloud is equally suitable for everyday users. With transfer speeds reaching 800 MB/s, it’s capable of handling everything from massive RAW photo libraries to everyday document backups. Users can back up their data in real time and, upon returning home or to the office, create a duplicate backup via the modular dock system—ensuring maximum redundancy with minimal effort.

According to StationPC, PocketCloud is more than just a storage device—it’s a rethinking of how we secure and manage digital content on the move. With cloud and offline backup support, remote access capabilities, and seamless file syncing, it provides a comprehensive solution for modern, mobile data needs.
