Launched in 2011, the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards competition is open to professional and amateur photographers, with the awards celebrating the best food photography from around the world. And with the subject matter being so widely available plus a prize fund of over £10,000 along with a top prize of £5000, it’s easy to see why it’s become one of the most popular and creative competitions of modern times.

Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year LogoSince 2011, more than 30,000 images have been submitted with the finalists attracting a huge amount of attention. The closing date for the current competition is midnight (GMT) on 5th February 2017 – just 100 days away.

Entered images will be judged by an illustrious panel that includes Food Critic Jay Rayner, Chef Gary Rhodes OBE, Dr Michael Prichard FRPS (Director General of the Royal Photographic Society) and Nigel Atherton (Group Editor of Amateur Photographer, What Digital Camera and Photo Technique).

If you’re stuck for inspiration, take a look through the 20 Pink Lady® Food Photographer Awards categories. With titles such as Bring Home the Harvest, World Food Programme Food for Life, Cream of the Crop and Politics of Food, they cover a wide gamut of food-related subjects and are designed to fire the imagination.

The Pink Lady Food Photography Awards judges are on the look-out for a combination of technical skill and originality as well as a sense of connection with the subject.

If you think you have an image (or images) that fit the bill, entering is easy.  You just need to follow this link to the Pink Lady Food Photography Awards website, and complete the registration form. Then when you’ve got your images ready, log-on to your account and upload your images. There’s no limit to the number of images that you can enter and you don’t need to upload all the images at one time.

Adults pay £25 to enter up to 5 images. Further images maybe entered at a cost of £5 each. Entries to the Food Sn-apping category cost £5 each with £2 being donated to Action Against Hunger.

The range of potential subjects is huge and there are still 100 days left for you to shoot an award-winning image.
