When the lockdown was announced in the UK, photographer and filmmaker Dave Newton decided to start shooting front step portraits of the residents on his street in return for a donation to NHS charities. To make things interesting, he set himself a target of raising £500. However, as the word spread about his project he’s far exceeded that target and he’s photographer people well beyond his own street.
In the video below, which was recorded via Zoom, Dave explains what happened and how he now plans to put on an exhibition and create a book – all for charity.
