Phase One Industrial has announced the iXM UAV, a new 100-megapixel medium format camera for drones which employs Cony’s 100-megapixel backside-illuminated 44x33mm sensor.

Thanks to its backside-illuminated sensor, the Phase One iXM offers a dynamic range of 83dB and a sensitivity range of ISO 50 to 6400.

The medium format drone camera can capture 14-bit raw images, as well as bursts at 3fps. Other features include USB 3 and Ethernet 10G ports, HDMI out and XQD memory card slot.

The Phase One iXM is also weatherproof and can withstand temperatures from -10C to 40C.

The Phase One iXM boasts the company’s RSM lens mount, and to coincide with the launch Phase One has announced four new lenses for its drone cameras: 35mm and 80mm fixed-focus lenses and 80mm and 150mm motorized focus lenses.

The Phase One iXM price tag will be $40,000, and each lens will cost $10,000.
