Phase One has launched three new medium format cameras, introducing the XF IQ4 Camera Systems, which are built upon a new, expandable Infinity Platform.
Comprising the new IQ4 System are the IQ4 150MP (151 megapixels), IQ4 100MP Trichromatic (101 megapixels) and IQ4 150MP Achromatic (151 megapixels).
The new cameras, Phase One says, are customisable and designed to be adapted over time.
This expandability is what Phase One is calling the Infinity Platform. The IQ4 has been developed, Phase One says, so that users can expand the cameras’ functionality over time as and when there are new developments in technology, or photographic workflow.
Another core feature of the Infinity Platform is that Phase One has moved the core of Capture One’s imaging processor into the IQ4 itself. Dubbed ‘Capture One Inside’, users can now edit and process their raw files within the IQ4 cameras.
Phase One says the Infinity Platform also allows the IQ4 cameras to push the limits of dynamic range.
The IQ4 cameras will also introduce three new tethering options: wireless, USB-C and ethernet. What’s more, users will be able to connect the cameras directly to hard drives, NAS storage, network solutions and mobile devices.
The ethernet and USB-C ports will offer both charging capability and the option to charge your other devices.
The Phase One IQ4 cameras will support both XQD and SD memory cards.
