Paul Sanders: Photography as Self-Expression

Tutorial

I recently spoke with professional fine art photographer, Fujifilm ambassador, speaker and photography mentor, Paul Sanders to get some insight into his wonderful photography.

He explained how he finds long exposure photography a therapeutic and meditative process that has helped him recover from a breakdown. He’s interested in forming connections with his subject and creating images that he considers are in some way self-portraits.

Paul also outlines how he feels photographers can use the lockdown to focus on their photography in a way that can benefit both their well-being and their skillset.

I really enjoyed this video. Paul has a lovely way of expressing himself and what he has to say is thoughtful and interesting. I also like Angela’s interview style. She lets the guest speak without interupting or trying to sound clever. An enjoyable watch. I don’t know much about much and had never heard of Paul Sanders but someone I know through flickr mentioned they are doing a workshop with him so I Googled.
