Panasonic has announced the Lumix FT7 – price tag £399 – its latest tough camera which is waterproof down to an industry-leading 31m / 102ft.

As well as waterproof, the Panasonic FT7 is shockproof to 2m/6.6ft, freezeproof to -10°C, dustproof and pressure resistant to 100kg/220lbf.

Inside the Panasonic FT7 is a 20.4-megapixel sensor coupled with a 28mm wide-angle lens offering 4.6x (28-128mm equivalent) optical zoom.

The FT7 also features Power O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilisation) to help keep your shots steady even during rocky activities.

The FT7 can also shoot 4K video, and also comes equipped with Panasonic’s 4K Photo mode, which allows you to extract 8-megapixel stills from short bursts of 30fps 4K video.

On the back of the Panasonic FT7 is a 3-inch, 1,040k-dot LCD. The new Panasonic tough camera can also shoot 10fps in its burst mode.

The FT7 has built-in WiFi connectivity, as well as built-in GPS. Among the shooting modes are timelapse and panorama options, along with 22 art filters. You also have the option to use the FT7 as a torch!

The Panasonic FT7 release date will be July, and the camera will be available in orange, blue and black.
