Olympus has announced the development of an M. Zuiko Digital 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO super telephoto lens, which boasts a built-in teleconverter that takes its maximum focal length up to 1000mm.

Alongside the new Olympus 150-400mm f/4.5 the company is also launching the M. Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20, which extends the lens’s focal length up to 2000mm.

The M. Zuiko Digital 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO super telephoto lens will also incorporate in-lens 5-axis Sync IS.

Aimed at wildlife and sports photographers, the M. Zuiko Digital 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO super telephoto lens release date is due for sometime in 2020.

As well as the M. Zuiko Digital 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO super telephoto lens, the MC-20 2x teleconverter can also be attached to the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO and M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO lenses.

The new Olympus 2x teleconverter effectively doubles the maximum shooting magnification of the master lens and is due for release in summer 2019.
