Olympus has announced the M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20, price tag £399.99, which effectively doubles the focal length of your master lens while maintaining its image performance.

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20 is designed for telemacro photography and can be attached to the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4.0 IS PRO as well as the ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lenses.

It will also be compatible with the ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO lens currently in development.

The Olympus 2x Teleconverter is constructed of 9 elements in 4 groups, which helps to keep aberrations, ghosting and flare at bay while maintaining the optical performance of the master lens.

The Olympus MC-20 is also weather-sealed, making it dust-, splash- and freeze-proof.

Olympus says the new MC-20 2x teleconverter will have a July release date. Pre-order the Olympus MC-20 at B&H Photo Video in the US or at Wex Photo Video in the UK.
