Nikon has announced the Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8, price tag £799/$796, with a release date set for September 2019.
The new Nikon Z lens is a classic portrait lens designed for head-and-shoulder shots and environmental portraits.
The Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 is compatible with the Nikon Z cameras’ new Eye-Detection feature and also promises silent AF and aperture adjustment for filmmaking.
On the lens barrel of the Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S is a control ring that is customisable and can be used for manual focusing, aperture control or exposure compensation.
Minimum focus distance is just 0.80m, and an anti-reflective Nano Crystal Coat helps prevent flare and ghosting.
Nikon says the lens barrel is also sealed to protect from dust and water.
