Nikon has released a trio of firmware updates to fix a series of small bugs reported by users on the Nikon D5 and Nikon 1 V2 and V3 cameras.

The Nikon D5 firmware update, version 1.21, resolves an issue where the camera sometimes found it difficult to focus on subjects placed in focus points at the edge of the frame.

Nikon 1 V3 firmware version 1.12 fixes a bug in which Auto power off doesn’t function properly with DF-N1000 electronic viewfinders.

Finally, Nikon 1 V2 firmware version 1.22 solves an issue that prevented the camera correctly displaying location data acquired with GP-N100 GPS units.

While these are all fairly minor firmware updates, what’s interesting is that Nikon is continuing to update its Nikon 1 series of mirrorless cameras.

There were reports last year that Nikon was discontinuing this range in preparation of launching a full-frame mirrorless camera with a new lens mount.
