Nikon has announced the development of a Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S super-telephoto prime lens for full-frame Nikon FX-format mirrorless cameras.
The Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S will be a new S-series lens that adopts a Phase Fresnel, a first for a Nikkor Z lens. The new Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S also promises to have a compact, lightweight body, making it much more portable than your usual super-telephoto lenses.
Nikon says the new Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S will deliver powerful rendering at high resolution and ‘thoroughly reduce colour bleeding.’
No release date or price information was given for the Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S.
Nikon has also updated its Nikkor Z lens roadmap up to 2023, giving a further indication of when the Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S might be officially released and when other optics will join the range.
