Many Nikon DX format DSLR cameras and lenses are out of stock at retailers in the US and UK.
Nikon Rumors noticed the trend, highlighting that popular Nikon DX format cameras like the D500 and D7500 are out of stock at major retailers such as Adorama and B&H Photo Video.
Here in the UK, large retailers such as Wex Photo Video and Park Cameras also show the message ‘Awaiting Stock’ for Nikon’s DX format DSLRs.
Interestingly, Nikon UK’s website also lists the D7500 and D3500 as Out of Stock. The D500 is still available, but the D3500 and D5600 were listed as ‘old products (ie discontinued) on the Nikon Japan website in January this year.
With Nikon now producing an APS-C format mirrorless camera, the Nikon Z50, the rest of yje DX line of DSLRs are likely to be on borrowed time.
It’s unlikely that Nikon is phasing cameras like the D500 and D7500 out just yet, but it could be a sign of things to come.
