Nikon designs a new sensor

An online retailer and official Nikon dealer has posted a listing for a Nikon D760 full-frame DSLR, then later removed it claiming it was a mistake.

Nikon Rumors spotted the listing on fotovideoshop.sk, which posted a product page for the Nikon D760 along with a few top-line specs.

Among these Nikon D760 specs were a 24-megapixel (5472 x 3648) full-frame sensor, 51-point AF system, 8fps burst shooting and a native sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 51,200.

Other Nikon D760 specs, according to the listing, were 4K video recording and a 3-inch LCD screen.

After posting the Nikon D760 listing, Nikon Rumors says it received an email from the retailer stating the listing was posted by mistake and it had been removed.

Nikon Rumors adds it hasn’t received any information about a Nikon D760, nor is it a camera that has appeared on many camera rumours lists; however, a Honduran newspaper last year published a report about the Nikon D760 which was also dismissed as an error at the time. The report said the Nikon D760 release date would be in 2017, which has obviously come and gone with no launch.

The Honduran newspaper also quoted a 24-megapixel sensor, along with a 1/8000sec maximum shutter speed. Though these were the only Nikon D760 specs it mentioned with any specificity. And a 24-megapixel sensor isn’t much of a prediction, as that’s what the D750 currently offers.
