Nikon has announced the development of what it is calling a ‘next-generation’ full-frame mirrorless camera that will boast a new mount that works with NIKKOR F mount lenses.
The company has given few details away, let alone a name, but what we do know is that the Nikon full-frame mirrorless camera will be FX-format and feature a new lens mount that will be compatible with NIKKOR F mount lenses.
Nikon F mount lenses can be mounted via a new mount adapter that Nikon is developing.
No price or release date was announced at this time; however, Nikon says it will reveal more in the coming weeks. We suspect we’ll be seeing an announcement in time for Photokina 2018.

Additionally, an F-Mount adapter is being developed that will enable the use of a wide variety of F-Mount NIKKOR lenses with the new camera.
