Techart has launched the EF-GFX adapter, the first autofocus adapter that allows photographers to mount Canon EF lenses to the Fujifilm GFX 50S.

As well as providing autofocus functionality, the Techart EF-GFX adapter offers in-body aperture control for photographers who want to mount their Canon or Sigma EF-mount lenses on Fujifilm’s mirrorless medium format GFX 50S camera body.

Techart says the lenses’ aperture can be adjust by turning the adapter’s command dial, and focal length and aperture data will also be saved into the adapter.

The Chinese manufacturer adds that the EFGFX adapter currently supports AF-S mode and supports an EF-mount lens’s Image Stabilization function.

Techart says it is also working to unlock the AF-C and video-shooting feature on the Fuji GFX 50S and expects to add this via a future firmware release.

Although not every one of the full frame EF-mount lenses has a large enough image circle to cover the Fuji GFX sensor, Techart says the EF-GFX adapter still opens up a wide range of lenses’ options for GFX users.

Techart EF-GFX Price & Release Date

The Techart Canon EF – Fujifilm GFX Autofocus Adapter is priced $499 with a release date set for mid-October. The adapter also comes with a one-year warranty.
