ExpoImaging has unveiled new collapsible drone pads and lighting kits for drone photographers in advance of Photokina 2016.

Under a new FlatHat Labs brand, ExpoImaging has created new 32in (80cm) and 16in (40cm) Collapsible Drone Pads to help protect sensitive drone cameras and sensors from rotor wash kicking up dust and debris.

The 32in drone pad weighs just 500g and collapses to a third of its expanded size, and is made out of thick fabric that is mounted to a flexible steel frame.

The 16in drone pad is made from the same material and weighs just 100g. Both drone pads also feature bright patterns to make drones more visible in low light when they’re on the ground.

The 32in drone pad is designed for mid-size consumer drones like the DJI Phantom range, 3DR Solo and Typhoon 4K, while the 16in drone pad is aimed at mini and nano size drones.

FlatHat Labs has launched two dedicated lighting kits for the drone pads to increase visibility. The Ice Blue and Gamma Green FlatHat Lighting Kits include a 4-way light controller and are water resistant.

Pricing information was not available at the time of writing.
