Smartphone lens maker Moment has announced an anamorphic lens range for the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2, priced at $300 on Kickstarter, as well as new filters and a smartphone case.
The Moment Air range comprises just one lens at the… moment, called the Drone Anamorphic Lens, which is designed with cinematography in mind.
Using what’s called a Lock and Balance Mounting System, the glass attaches to the front of your DJI drone and promises a cinematic aspect ratio without losing compression.
Moment says the Drone Anamorphic Lens also provides the cinematic effects of black bars and flares.
Priced at $300 in its current crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, the Moment lens for DJI drones certainly appears to be great value for an anamorphic lens.
The Drone Anamorphic Lens also employs a counterweight system so that the camera remains balanced when the lens is mounted.
The lens itself weighs less than 50g and provides a magnification ratio of 1.33x.
CPL and NDL Filters
Moment is also releasing a circular polariser/linear and neutral density filter for the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom drones, which claim to be the lightest drone filters you can buy.
Moment says it plans to release six filters, comprising an ND filter for the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom drones, and a CPL filter for the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom drones.
Lastly, Moment is launching an iPhone case that it says is so thin – at 0.75mm – that it will fit into your drone controller while mounted to your phone.
The case is designed for the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR models.
