Panasonic Lumix LX100 II announced as a new addition to the company’s premium compact camera range. This new camera will go on sale on October 1st with a price tag of £849/€949.
The Panasonic LX range of cameras has been a favourite choice for photographers who shoot street or travel images. This popularity for the LX range has been due to the compact size, light weight and high-end features.
Those high-end features enable complete manual control over the camera with full aperture, shutter speed and sensitivity adjustment. Essentially offering the same level of control over the way your images look as if you were using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera.
The LX100 II builds on the foundations of previous models and introduces a new 17 million pixel, multi-aspect sensor.
What does the multi-aspect four-thirds sensor mean? Well with the new high-resolution sensor, a big upgrade over the LX100, you can capture high-resolution shots in a choice of aspect ratios. These can be quickly selected using a slider switch on top of the lens that gives you direct access to 4:3, 3:2, 1:1 and 16:9.
Fronting the camera is a 24-75mm (35mm equivalent) Leica DC VARIO-SUMMILUX f/1.7-f/2.8 lens.
The lens choice is a real winner as the focal length is close to the popular 24-70mm range. This focal length gives you plenty of creative scope from taking street scenes, through to portraits and landscapes. The f/1.7-f/2.8 wide aperture ensures that you can get attractive background blur/bokeh when you want it.
In addition to the 3.0-inch touchscreen is an LVF (Live View Finder), so you have a choice over how you compose your images.
Other notable new features include 4K Video and 4K Photo alongside new Monochrome Photo Styles, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB charging.
