Macphun has announced a Supernova update to its Luminar 2018 editing software, which adds new intelligent features and speed improvements.
Macphun (soon to be SKYLUM) said its Luminar 2018 Supernova update will introduce a range of new filters driven by artificial intelligence. Among these will be a new Sun Rays filter, Look-Up Table support for taking specific RGB values from a source image and modifying to new RGB values and real-time noise removal.
Luminar 2018 Supernova also promises major speed improvements, as well as a dedicated raw develop module. Macphun says a new digital asset management platform will also be arriving in 2018 via another update.
A new interface promises streamlined workflows, mixing presets with more advanced options like layers and masks.
What’s more, Macphun says it has ‘re-built from the ground up’ its flagship software in order to deliver the performance boosts in what could be seen as a bid to take on Lightroom in the wake of Adobe’s major changes to its popular platform.
Luminar 2018 will be available this month. If you pre-order in the next two weeks the Luminar 2018 price tag will be £55 (RRP £64).
